Man found deceased in reservoir at Betaga

Agartala, 17th April 2024:   The Betaga area was shaken by the finding of a deceased individual in a local reservoir. The body was spotted by residents on Wednesday, prompting immediate notification to the Santirbazar police and fire brigade.

Upon arrival, firefighters executed a swift rescue operation, retrieving the body from the water and transporting it to the Baikhora Primary Health Centre. Despite their efforts, the circumstances surrounding the individual’s death remain a mystery.

The deceased has been identified as Manik Das, a member of the Betaga community. Concerns were raised when Das was reported missing the previous day, and the subsequent recovery of his body has sent shockwaves through the area.

Authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine the cause of death. The incident has cast a pall over the community as they await answers. The police have urged anyone with information to come forward and assist in shedding light on this tragedy.
