Man lying on pool of blood Recovered; Police Suspect Murder

Agartala, 12th July 2026:   A blood-soaked body of a man identified as Manindra Sarkar was recovered from Ashwini Market, triggering tension in the area. Following the incident, West District Superintendent of Police (SP) Namit Pathak, Additional SP Dhruv Nath, and Amtali SDPO Parmita Pandey rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation.

A forensic team along with a dog squad was deployed to assist in the investigation. To prevent any escalation of tension similar to the situation witnessed earlier at Kathaltali, additional Tripura State Rifles (TSR) and CRPF personnel were also deployed in the area.

Speaking to the media, SP Namit Pathak said that preliminary investigation suggests it to be a murder case. He stated that multiple sharp weapon injury marks were found on the body. The SP further informed that several persons have been detained for questioning in connection with the incident.

He added that the actual circumstances behind the death would become clearer after the post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, the murder has created panic and widespread concern among residents, with a sense of tension prevailing across the area.
