Agartala, 27th December 2024: A shocking incident rocked Udaipur Central Road late Wednesday night when a businessman, identified as Samrat Dey, stabbed three friends following a heated argument. The accused, who owns the Samrat Water Company, was apprehended by the police and presented in court on Thursday.
According to police sources, the altercation occurred between Samrat Dey and his three friends—Rahul Das, Ujjal Saha, and Shekhar Das. The dispute escalated, leading to a violent attack where Samrat Dey stabbed the three men. The victims sustained injuries of varying severity.
Rahul Das, who suffered critical injuries, was initially rushed to Gomati District Hospital and later referred to the GB Trauma Center in Agartala. Medical reports indicate serious injuries to his eyes and body. Meanwhile, Ujjal Saha and Shekhar Das are receiving primary treatment at Gomati District Hospital.
The family of Rahul Das has filed a formal complaint against Samrat Dey under case number RKPur PS/138 Section 118/2/109 Act BNS. The RK Pur police station is actively investigating the matter.
Yesterday law enforcement officials detained Samrat Dey from his residence and produced him before the District and Sessions Judge’s Court, where the police sought a three-day remand for further interrogation.
