Agartala, 3rd December 2024: The Special Judge of Belonia today has convicted and sentenced a man to suffer Rigorous Imprisonment for 20 years for sexually assaulting two minor girls on October of 2023.
As per press release of Tripura Police the complainant stayed with her two minor daughters in the house of Jwaharlal Saha at Bashpara Colony on rent.
In the same house the accused person also resided on rent and he was a student of Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar College When the complainant went from house for work purpose at that time the accused person had taken both daughters of complainant into his room and shown them some obscene pictures and videos from his mobile and committed rape upon both of the victims on 16/10/2023, the elder daughter of the complainant had disclosed the whole matter to her mother and also outraged the modesty of the complainant.
The accused person also threatened her not to disclose the matter otherwise he will kill her.
“On 03/12/24, the Ld. SPL Judge, Belonia, South District has convicted, Sajal Dey (24) of Radhanagar, Surjyasen Palli and sentenced to suffer Rigorous Imprisonment for 20 (twenty) years and to pay a fine of Rs. 10,000. The fine money, if realized, be paid to the victim through her legal guardian as compensation”, said the press release.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Investigating Officer, WSI Anima Kar of Belonia Women PS thoroughly investigated the case and submitted charge sheet which subsequently ended in conviction
