Agartala, 3rd December 2024:   The state government has filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court regarding the Sarva Shiksha case, sparking dissatisfaction and anger among SSA teachers. SSA teachers Bastab Debbarma and Sajal Deb voiced their concerns to journalists today, accusing the government of failing to regularize their positions.

“The government is not taking a decision to regularize Sarva Shiksha teachers. The state government has cheated us,” said Bastab Debbarma. He emphasized that Sarva Shiksha teachers played a crucial role in bringing the BJP government to power in Tripura in 2018. “At that time, the BJP government had promised to regularize Sarva Shiksha teachers if it came to power. But it has not been regularized yet. The government has cheated us,” he added.

Sajal Deb echoed these sentiments, expressing frustration over the unfulfilled promises. The teachers’ dissatisfaction highlights the ongoing struggle for job security and recognition within the state’s education system. The filing of the SLP in the Supreme Court adds another layer of complexity to the issue, as the teachers await a resolution to their demands for regularization.
