Agartala, 11th July 2024: The family members of Mandal President Dhirendra Debnath have been accused of attempting to attack doctors and medical staff at GB Pant Hospital, allegedly due to dissatisfaction with medical services.
As per sources, Mandal President Debnath, admitted to the hospital for blood pressure and diabetes-related issues, reportedly showed no improvement. On Thursday, doctors recommended various tests, including an X-ray.
During the X-ray procedure, Debnath fell ill while waiting in a long queue. His son and other family members called for the doctors to attend to him directly in front of the X-ray room. However, the doctors insisted on the patient being brought to them due to protocol, leading to a verbal altercation between the doctors and the patient’s family.
Subsequently, the situation escalated, and the agitated family members allegedly attempted to attack the doctors. Police were alerted and managed to bring the situation under control. On the same day, members of the family, including the Mandal president, criticized the service quality at GB Hospital.”
