CJI inaugurates new set of facilities for advocates at SC premises

 Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud on Thursday inaugurated a new set of facilities at the Supreme Court of India’s Block-D in the Additional Building Complex.

The newly inaugurated amenities include 68 cubicles for advocates, providing them with dedicated spaces to work and consult with clients. Additionally, the facilities feature lockers for personal storage.

Cabins for Oath Commissioners, a consultation room, a stationery shop, a chemist shop, and a common waiting area for litigants and visitors.

The waiting area has a seating capacity of approximately 50 persons, ensuring comfort and convenience for those awaiting court proceedings.

This development reflects the Supreme Court’s commitment to supporting the legal community and other stakeholders by creating a conducive environment for legal practice.

The new facilities are expected to streamline daily operations and enhance the overall efficiency of legal professionals working at the Supreme Court.

Many Supreme Court judges and lawyers, including senior advocate Kapil Sibal, president of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), were present during the inauguration ceremony.
