Agartala: April 21. As many as ten markets in and around Agartala Municipal Corporation would be renovated in a new manner, said Mayor Dipak Majumder.
On Friday, Mayor Majumder visited the Abhaynagar market and the pond adjacent to the market. During the visit he had inspected about the current condition of the pond adjacent to the market.
“This market has several problems. However, after the formation of the new Municipal Corporation, it was decided to develop 10 markets in the city. The way markets were built earlier was not correct. Consumer convenience is ignored. Sellers are also facing problems. After the inspections of all the markets decisions would be taken on how we can renovate the market”, he said.
He also said that a part of Abhaynagar market has been vacated. Survey work has started for it. This work will be completed soon. The right place will come out.
Mayor said that the adjacent pond will be renovated. Apart from the mayor, Hiralal Debnath, Pradeep Chanda, members of the Mayor-in-Council were also present on that day.
