Agartala, 14th December 2025:  A harrowing incident, police have arrested a 21-year-old married man for allegedly raping a nine-year-old minor girl in the Kamalasagar Miapara area under the Madhupur Police Station jurisdiction. The Incident According to police sources, the incident occurred around 3:00 PM today. The accused, identified as Rasel Mia (son of Rijik Mia), reportedly lured the minor girl—who lives in the same neighborhood—to his house under false pretenses and promises of affection.

It is alleged that Rasel, despite being a married man, sexually assaulted the child inside his home. While the victim was initially too traumatized to speak, she eventually broke down due to physical pain and narrated the ordeal to her parents.  Police Action Following the revelation, the victim’s parents rushed to the Madhupur Police Station at approximately 4:00 PM on Sunday and lodged a formal complaint against the accused. Acting swiftly on the complaint, a police team led by Second Officer Chittaranjan Reang launched an operation. The team raided the accused’s residence and successfully apprehended Rasel Mia. Legal Proceedings Second Officer Chittaranjan Reang confirmed that a case has been registered against Rasel Mia under the stringent POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act. Meanwhile, the situation remains tense as the mother of the accused has vehemently denied the allegations. She claimed that her son is innocent and alleges that he is being “deliberately framed” in a false case.
