Matabari “Diwali Mela” extended till October 26 evening

Agartala Oct 25: After reviewing the overall situation on Tuesday. The Mela Committee headed by MLA Biplab Kumar Ghosh announced extension of the grand fair till October 26  i.e Wednesday.

Because of the havoc unleashed by Cyclone Si-Trang across the state of Tripura, the famous 2-day long “Diwaliu Mela” in Udaipur’s Tripureshwari temple got severely affected. Along with thousands of devotees who could not have a “Darshan” of the goddess on the sacred occasion, the traders who gathered at the Mela premises in hope of profitable business were left devastated because of the incessant rains and gusty winds.

In this situation, with the advice of CM Dr Manik Saha and the other members of the Fair Committee the “Diwali Mela” has been extended till October 26.The traders were requested to vacate the fair premises by  7 am next day.The decision has been welcomed by the traders and hawkers from far and wide with a ray of hope in their eyes.
