Agartala, 8th February 2025: Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumdar has embarked on a mission to address the developmental needs of Ward No. 16 of the Municipal Corporation. Recently, he conducted visits to various areas within the ward, attentively listening to the grievances of local residents and assuring them of necessary actions.
During his visit to Ramnagar Road No. 6, as well as Bani Vidyapith School and Upper Primary School, Mayor Majumdar was informed by local residents about the prevalence of anti-social activities in the area due to inadequate street lighting. Responding to their concerns, the mayor pledged to install lights in the affected areas, promising, “We will take immediate steps to ensure that the streets are well-lit at night, which will help curb these anti-social activities and make the neighborhood safer for everyone.”
Additionally, residents pointed out the need for repairing certain drains in Ward No. 16 to prevent water accumulation during the rainy season and maintain a clean environment. In response, Mayor Majumdar issued orders for the immediate repair of the drains. “Keeping our environment clean and preventing waterlogging is a top priority. We are committed to ensuring these repairs are done promptly,” he stated.
The Mayor also emphasized that the development efforts are not limited to Ward No. 16 alone but extend to every ward within the Municipal Corporation. He appealed to the citizens for their patience and cooperation, saying, “We are working tirelessly to identify and resolve the issues in each ward. I request our citizens to give us some more time and to collaborate with us in this developmental journey. Your opinions and suggestions are invaluable, and together, we can further accelerate the growth of our city.”
Mayor Majumdar’s visit and the subsequent actions have been welcomed by the residents, who expressed optimism about the positive changes these steps will bring to their community.
