Agartala, 4th February 2025: Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumdar issued a stern warning to the market committee during his visit to Lake Chowmuhani Market today asserting that illegal activities will not be tolerated.
Mayor Majumdar organized a discussion meeting tomorrow with traders to address the development of Lake Chowmuhani Market and to put an end to illegal activities within the market. The meeting was attended by market traders, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav, other officials, Corporator Bhaswati Debbarma, 7-Ramnagar Mandal President Amitabh Bhattacharya and the secretary of the market management committee.
“This meeting has been organized to discuss the development of Lake Chowmuhani Market as a modern and developed market. We are committed to working with traders to achieve this goal,” said Mayor Majumdar.
He also addressed the complaints received from various traders and local residents against the market management committee. “Several complaints have been received regarding illegal activities in the market. We will take measures to stop these activities immediately,” he added.
During the meeting, traders presented various problems and suggestions to the mayor. In response, Mayor Majumdar assured them that their issues would be resolved. “Illegal activities in the market will be stopped,” he reiterated.
