Agartala, April 30: In the midst of scorching temperatures engulfing Agartala and the entire state, Mayor Dipak Majumdar of Agartala Municipal Corporation took a proactive step to alleviate the suffering of sanitation workers. In a compassionate gesture, he distributed cold drinking water, towel caps, and watermelons among the cleaning workers battling the relentless heat on Tuesday.
The event took place at the premises of AD Nagar school, where Mayor Majumdar underscored the urgency of addressing the extreme conditions gripping the state. He acknowledged the dedication of sanitation workers who continue their duties despite the sweltering heatwave.
“Agartala and the entire state are ablaze with intense heat,” Mayor Majumdar remarked. “Despite the challenging conditions, the sanitation workers of the municipal corporation persist in their duties. It is our responsibility to provide them with some relief from this oppressive heat.”
In addition to today’s relief efforts, Mayor Majumdar announced plans for a mega blood donation camp scheduled for tomorrow in Ramnagar. The initiative aims to address the critical blood shortage and meet the urgent medical needs of the state.
As Agartala grapples with soaring temperatures, initiatives like these stand as a testament to the community’s solidarity and commitment to supporting those most affected by the heatwave.
