Agartala, 12th September 2025 : The road leading to the Police Line Quarters here has remained in a state of disrepair for an extended period, prompting concerns from residents and officials alike. In response to a formal request from the Home department, the Agartala Municipal Corporation has initiated steps toward its restoration.
Mayor Dipak Majumdar today visited the site to assess the condition of the road firsthand. He was accompanied by Deputy Mayor Manika Das Datta, the Municipal Commissioner and other senior officials from the Corporation.
Speaking to reporters during the inspection, Mayor Majumdar assured that temporary measures would be taken to make the road motorable before the upcoming Durga Puja festivities. He further stated that comprehensive repair work would commence after the festival season.
Residents of the Police Line Quarters expressed relief following the Corporation’s assurance, hoping for swift action to improve connectivity and safety in the area.
