Agartala, 29th August 2026: Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Mayor Dipak Majumder on Saturday inspected the ongoing drain construction work at Kanai Saha Lane, off Down Pratapgarh Road No. 3 under Ward No. 32.
During the visit, the Mayor assessed the progress of the work and held discussions with concerned officials regarding its timely completion. He also interacted with local residents, who highlighted various drainage-related problems and long-standing waterlogging issues in the area.
Majumder listened to the residents’ grievances and assured them that necessary steps would be taken for their speedy resolution. Residents expressed hope that completion of the drain would improve water drainage and significantly reduce waterlogging during the monsoon.
Speaking during the inspection, Mayor Majumder said efforts were underway to develop towns across the state and thanked Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha for supporting ongoing development initiatives. He said extensive development work was currently being undertaken along the wide road in the Ram Ram Nagar area.
The Mayor appealed for cooperation from all stakeholders to ensure that the projects proceed without hindrance. He also urged local residents to take ownership of the completed infrastructure, stressing that they would ultimately be responsible for its upkeep.
He added that the executing agencies and AMC officials would make every effort to complete the work within the stipulated timeframe.
