Agartala, December 20, 2022: The residents from Harua to Shanicherra market on Tuesday held a meeting over the dilapidated condition of a 7-KM long road and no work has been done to renovate it.

It is noted that after the construction of this road under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, there was no renovation. So a letter was given to the District Magistrate a month back under the leadership of Reform Committee president Rajal Singh.

Copies of the same were sent to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Dharmanagar, East Harua Gram Panchayat, South Harua Gram Panchayat, Nadiapur Shanichhara Gram Panchayat and Shanichhara Gram Panchayat.

As no proactive steps were taken by the government, a delegation led by the President of the Reforms Committee, Rajal Singh, resorted to the District Magistrate last week. But it didn’t work. Finally, on Tuesday, the villagers got together and called for a joint movement.

It should be noted that the people of four villages and the students of Pranavananda Vidyamandir, travel daily through this 7 KMs road. Thousands of people travel through this road, but due to its non-renovation, there is a tense moment among the villagers and because of this road miserable condition, some minor accidents are also taking place almost every day.

The local residents informed that if the initiative to renovating it is not made soon, they will call for a larger movement.
