Agartala, 6th November 2023 :    In a shocking incident of medical negligence, several patients at Melaghar Hospital were allegedly administered expired saline, leading to a deterioration in their health conditions.

The incident came to light when a patient’s relatives discovered that their loved one had been given at least four to five doses of expired saline.

According to sources, the patient had initially been admitted to Melaghar Hospital due to a physical ailment. However, it was revealed that the attending doctors, reportedly acting without a sense of responsibility, administered expired saline to the patient. When confronted, the doctors on duty were unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for their actions.

Enraged by the discovery, the patient’s relatives expressed their concerns and demanded answers from the hospital staff. They alleged that this was not an isolated incident and that multiple patients receiving treatment at the hospital may have been subjected to the same perilous oversight.

The aggrieved relatives have now called upon the state government and the health department to launch a thorough investigation into the matter. They insist that immediate measures be taken to ensure the safety and well-being of all patients currently undergoing treatment at Melaghar Hospital.
