Agartala, 24th May 2025: Minister and Krishnapur assembly constituency MLA Bikash Debbarma strongly criticized Mungiakami Block BAC Chairman Sunil Debbarma labeling him as a “CPIM broker” during a public gathering held today at Chinta Kumar Molsom Para in Dakshin Gokulnagar ADC Village.
Addressing the attendees at the event organized by Krishnapur Mandal, Minister Debbarma accused the previous CPIM-led administration of depriving the tribal community of essential government benefits for 36 years. He cited issues such as the lack of old age allowances, widow pensions, and inadequate educational facilities as examples of negligence faced by marginalized groups. Furthermore, he alleged that current BAC Chairman Sunil Debbarma continues to operate with bias, allegedly obstructing government projects meant for the welfare of the tribal population.
The minister also highlighted a political shift in the region, stating that 36 voters from Chinta Kumar Molsom Para had recently defected from various political parties, including CPI(M), to join the BJP. He personally welcomed the new members into the party, handing over BJP flags to signify their allegiance. Emphasizing his party’s commitment, he reiterated that the government aims to uplift economically weaker sections by ensuring access to welfare schemes.
Leaders from BJP Janajati Morcha and Krishnapur Mandal were also present at the event. Party representatives reaffirmed their dedication to safeguarding tribal rights and pledged continued support for those who have historically been neglected.
