Agartala, 5th August 2025: In anticipation of International Tribal Day on August 9, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Pradesh Janajati Morcha has announced a landmark public rally in the Agartala city.
As part of an intensive outreach campaign, a special market meeting was organized on Tuesday at the Mungiakami Shakti Kendra under the 29 Krishnapur Mandal. The gathering drew spirited participation from tribal residents across the region.
Speaking at the event, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma lauded the central and state governments for transforming the lives of tribal families that had long been deprived of essential services. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, benefits such as education, healthcare, clean drinking water, and employment are now reaching even the remotest villages,” he stated, calling the progress “unprecedented in the past 35 years of governance.”
Debbarma emphasized the significance of the upcoming rally, noting that widespread participation from tribal-populated areas would be critical in reinforcing the momentum of welfare schemes and communicating the government’s efforts to a broader audience.
Other speakers included Krishnapur Mandal Vice President Gopal Das, MDC Bidyut Debbarma, General Secretary Watharai Malmus, and several grassroots leaders, all of whom underscored the socio-economic advancements made under the current administration. They urged community members to actively engage in the August 9 rally to amplify the voices of tribal development.
The market meeting saw lively public turnout, particularly from tribal sections of the Mungiakami bazaar and surrounding areas. Observers noted that the event successfully strengthened grassroots sentiment, signaling robust attendance at the upcoming rally and further mobilization around tribal progress.
