Minister Tinku Roy emphasizes humanitarian duty at blood donation camp in Unakoti

Agartala, 16th May 2025:  A blood donation camp was organized today at Unakoti Kalakshetra in collaboration with the District Social Welfare and Social Education Department and the district administration. The event was inaugurated by Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy, who urged citizens to actively participate in such life-saving initiatives. 

Speaking at the event, Minister Roy emphasized the significance of blood donation, stating, “Blood donation means life donation. Everyone should come forward to fulfill this humanitarian duty.” He further highlighted the role of individuals in strengthening social responsibility, stressing that participation in such programs should not be limited to governmental and organizational efforts but should extend to every conscientious citizen. 

The camp was attended by key officials, including District Magistrate Dilip Kumar Chakma, Municipal Council Chairperson Chapla Debroy, District Education Officer Prashanta Kilikdar and District Inspector of the Social Welfare Department Vidyasagar Debbarma. 

A total of 24 donors, including one woman, contributed to the camp. Minister Roy affirmed that awareness efforts are being intensified at all levels to encourage greater participation in future blood donation drives. 

The initiative reflects the growing emphasis on community welfare and health awareness in the region.
