Minister Tinku Roy visits families affected by post-poll violence

Date:

Agartala, 18th April 2026:   Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy on Saturday visited party workers and families in Ramchandraghat and Asharambari areas of Khowai district, where homes of BJP supporters were allegedly attacked and set ablaze following the announcement of election results.

Roy met with affected families, expressed solidarity, and reviewed the overall situation on the ground. Condemning the incidents of arson and violence, he said: “After the declaration of election results, several of our workers’ houses were attacked and set on fire by miscreants sheltered by Motha. I stood beside the families whose homes were damaged and assessed the situation.”

The minister assured that the administration would act swiftly to bring the perpetrators to justice.

“I am confident the authorities will promptly identify all culprits and ensure strict, exemplary punishment under the law,” Roy stated.

He was accompanied by BJP state general secretary Bipin Debbarma, MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury and other workers of the party.

The visit comes amid heightened tension in parts of Tripura, with political clashes leaving families fearful and demanding accountability.
