Ministry of Jal Shakti sanctioned Rs 166 crore for Jal Jeevan Mission in Tripura

Agartala, September 16, 2022: Ministry of Jal Shakti on Friday sanctioned Rs 166 crores as admissible grant for the state to further the work of Jal Jeevan Mission project, informed DWS minister Sushanta Chowdhury by expressing his gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union Water Resources minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.

The DWS minister Chowdhury also expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha. He wrote in Facebook, “We are committed to bring filtered drinking water to the homes of every citizen of the state. We have already been able to deliver drinking water through pipes to the homes of nearly four lakh citizens living in rural areas. The continuous financial contribution from the central Government will give our Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation an extra impetus and encouragement to do better work in the Jal Jeevan Mission project.”
