Agartala, 7th August 2025: A minor girl and a youth were detained at Agartala Railway Station this morning by members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal, who later handed them over to the Government Railway Police (GRP). The incident has sparked serious allegations, with the girl’s mother filing a case at the East Agartala Women’s Police Station accusing the youth of forcibly abducting her daughter with the intent to traffic her to Bengaluru.
According to the complaint, the 16-year-old girl had left home around 2 PM the previous day to visit her private tutor but failed to return. Her mother stated that the youth found with her at the station was unknown to the family and belonged to a different religious community. She alleged that her daughter was forcibly taken away.
Kaushik Pal, a VHP leader from West Tripura district said that several members of the organization grew suspicious upon spotting the duo at the railway station. Upon questioning, they learned that the girl hailed from GB Indranagar and the youth identified as Ansar Uddin was accompanying her to Bengaluru. The pair was immediately handed over to GRP officials.
The girl’s mother has accused the youth of abducting and sexually assaulting her daughter the previous day. A formal case has been registered, alleging that the youth intended to traffic the minor to Bengaluru. Police investigations are underway to verify the claims and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
