The deceased has been identified as Debsmita Sen Chowdhury (18), a Class 12 student of Dhaleswar Kamini Kumar Higher Secondary School.

Upon receiving the news, officers from East Agartala Women’s Police Station rushed to the spot, recovered the body, and sent it for autopsy. Investigations into the case of unnatural death are currently underway.

Debsmita had been residing with her grandparents in Dhaleswar following the recent demise of her father, whose house was in Teliamura. Her maternal uncle stated that her grandfather first discovered the tragic scene early this morning. The incident has left the family in deep sorrow.

Police sources revealed that a friend of the deceased called her in the morning but instead found her lifeless body. She had recently appeared for her Higher Secondary Examination. Authorities are exploring all possible angles as part of their ongoing investigation.
