Agartala, 31st March 2025:   A shocking incident took place at the Chelagang area where a group of miscreants attacked on-duty police and TSR personnel. Despite the alarming nature of the incident, no concrete action was taken by Officer-in-Charge (OC) Bimal Baidya of Chelagang police station, raising questions about his role and involvement.

The event took place in the Depaichhara area under Chelagang police station, where bike thefts have become a recurring issue. To curb these activities, a checkpoint was set up near the Buddha Temple in Depaichhara. While conducting checks at the naka point, a group of miscreants attacked the police and TSR personnel on duty. This has sparked widespread outrage in the local community.

Upon receiving news of the attack, reporters from the sub-division rushed to the spot. Interestingly, OC Bimal Baidya fled upon seeing the journalists, adding fuel to the speculation about his questionable actions. Even though two attackers claimed to be local residents, they were not arrested by the OC, further deepening the controversy.

As whispers circulate within the police department, questions arise: why did the OC avoid the media, and does he have any connections with the miscreants? These are the allegations made by the assaulted police and TSR personnel, amplifying concerns about transparency and accountability within the local administration.
