Agartala, 1st April 2024:  In a shocking turn of events, miscreants targeted the campaign decorations of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) late Sunday night in the vicinity of the Indira Nagar SB School of Ward No. 9, Melaghar Municipal Council. The incident, which has been met with widespread condemnation, comes amidst the fervor of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Reports indicate that BJP campaign decorations, prominently featuring support for Biplab Kumar Dev, the nominated BJP candidate for the West Tripura constituency, were systematically vandalized under the cover of darkness. Party officials were disheartened to discover the extent of the damage when they arrived at the scene on Monday morning.

Speaking out against the reprehensible act, BJP party workers expressed their outrage, labeling the perpetrators as enemies of society who harbor ill intentions towards the welfare of the people. They wasted no time in pointing fingers at the opposition, alleging their involvement in orchestrating the vandalism.

“These cowardly acts of sabotage only serve to undermine the democratic process and sow seeds of discord within our community,” remarked a BJP spokesperson.

The BJP workers assert that they have identified those responsible for the heinous act and have vowed to hold them accountable. They have issued stern warnings, indicating their resolve to closely monitor the activities of the alleged culprits.

However, the incident has sent shockwaves across the area, raising concerns about the sanctity of political discourse and the need for heightened vigilance during the election season.
