Agartala, 16th January 2024 :  In a distressing turn of events, the lifeless body of 35-year-old Paritosh Biswas, who had been missing for three days, was discovered in Manu River in Damodar Reang Para, under Nepaltila police station in Longtorai Valley sub-division. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community.

Paritosh Biswas, son of the late Jagmohan Biswas and a resident of Nalkata Kalanjoy Singh Para, met a tragic end, sparking an immediate investigation by the local authorities.

The Manu police station swiftly took action, apprehending two suspects allegedly involved in the incident. Sadhan Roy Reang, 47, and his daughter’s son-in-law, Kandram Reang, 24, have been taken into custody for questioning.

Upon interrogation, authorities noted inconsistencies in the suspects’ statements, raising suspicions about their involvement in the untimely demise of Paritosh Biswas.

The discovery of the body around 3 o’clock today intensified the gravity of the situation. Preliminary assessments suggest that the motive behind this tragic incident may be linked to a quarrel arising from gambling activities.

As news of the incident spread, locals gathered around Sadhan Roy Riang’s house, expressing shock and outrage. The police intervened promptly to diffuse the tension and brought the two suspects to the Manu police station for further investigation.

The family of the deceased, including Paritosh’s two children and his wife, were present during this difficult time.
