Agartala, 20th May 2025:  Concerns over child trafficking surfaced after allegations emerged about a 3-year-old girl being transferred from the State Foundling Home in Narsingarh without proper authorization.

Today, a delegation from the Democratic Women’s Association Mohanpur Sub-Divisional Committee accompanied by local MLA Nayan Sarkar visited the home demanding a thorough investigation and strict action against those involved.

The All India Democratic Women’s Association Mohanpur Sub-Divisional Committee also called for urgent government intervention.

MLA Nayan Sarkar expressed his alarm over the incident, stating, “I saw on social media that a few staff members of the government home in Narsingarh had given a 3-year-old girl to another place without the knowledge of the child’s mother. I visited the home to discuss the matter with those in charge and demanded a proper investigation to uncover the truth.”

Sources indicate that when the child’s mother entrusted the girl to the home, certain staff members allegedly failed to register her and handed her over to another party without informing the mother. Since then, the mother has reportedly been seeking help but has received no assistance.
