MLA Ratan Chakraborty reinstated as Cancer Hospital’s Rogi Kalyan Samiti chairman

Agartala, February 09: MLA Ratan Chakraborty has resumed his duties as the chairman of the Cancer Hospital’s ‘Rogi Kalyan Samiti’, a post he had held earlier. He was reinstated as the chairman after the dissolution of the Rogi Kalyan Samitis in several hospitals, including Cancer Hospital, GB Hospital and IGM Hospital, on November 3, 2023.

The dissolution of the previous Samitis was done to form a new Rogi Kalyan Samiti, which will oversee the welfare activities of all the hospitals under the Health Department. Dr. Dilip Das, a renowned oncologist, has been appointed as the vice-chairman of the new association.

The new association also includes councilors Jaya Dhanuk and Sharmistha Bardhan, deputy medical superintendent of GB Hospital, MOC of nuclear medicine department, store and purchase officer, MOC of biochemistry department, nursing superintendent, radiation safety officer and several other members from different departments and units of the hospitals.

The new association aims to improve the quality of care and services for the patients, especially those suffering from cancer and other critical illnesses. It will also coordinate with the government and other agencies to ensure adequate funds, equipment, medicines and staff for the hospitals.

The chairman, Ratan Chakraborty, expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha for entrusting him with the responsibility. He said he will work hard to fulfill the expectations of the people and the government. He also thanked the members of the new association for their support and cooperation.

The vice chairman, Dr. Dilip Das, said he is honored to be a part of the new association and hoped to contribute to the welfare of the patients and the hospitals. He also praised the chairman, Ratan Chakraborty, for his leadership and experience in the field of health and welfare.
