MMD College, Sabroom marks 64th Teachers’ Day with tribute to educators

Agartala, 5th September 2025:   Michael Madhusudan Dutta (MMD) College celebrated the 64th Teachers’ Day in honor of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, India’s first Vice-President and a revered educator, whose birth anniversary is observed nationwide to recognize the role of teachers in shaping society.

Held in the college seminar hall, the event began with traditional rituals including plant watering, floral tributes to Dr. Radhakrishnan’s portrait, and a musical invocation. Principal Dr. Anupam Guha presided over the ceremony.

Retired educators Thengafru Mog and Dulal Chkraborty joined faculty and students to reflect on the enduring bond between teachers and pupils. Speakers underscored the irreplaceable value of education and the lifelong guidance teachers provide beyond textbooks.

Dr. Guha emphasized the evolving landscape of education in the digital era and urged students to embrace knowledge with integrity. The program concluded with student speeches by Jaydeep Das and Hridesh Tripura, followed by the national anthem.
