Agartala, 20th November 2025: The Department of Chemistry of the ICFAI University Tripura Celebrated ‘Mole Day’ on November 18 last. ‘Mole Day’ is celebrated every year on 23rd October to commemorate Avogadro’s Number (6.023× 10²³) which is a fundamental constant and a basic measuring unit in Chemistry.
The main objective of the program was to highlight the importance of Mole Day among students of the University to promote the relevance of Chemistry in everyday life.
The program commenced with the lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome address delivered by Prof. (Dr.) A. Ranganath, Registrar of the University. A special presentation on the theme for Mole Day-2025 presented by Dr. Swarnali Nath Choudhury, Dean of Career Development Centre of the University. Prof. R. N. Dutta Purkayastha, Retired Chemistry Professor of Tripura University and Academic Advisor of National Forensic Science University (NFSU), Agartala delivered the key note address on “Insights into Metal Carboxylates: Synthetic Approach, Structure and Exploration of Some Properties”, as Resource Speaker.
As part of the celebration, several student-centric events like Quiz Competition, Poster Presentation of Ideas, Science Model Exhibition etc. among the School and College level students. Over 104 students participated in various events from various Schools, Colleges and Universities including the students of the ICFAI University Tripura.
The entire programme was coordinated by Dr. Ganesh Chandra Paul, Assistant Professor& Head, Department of Chemistry of the ICFAI University Tripura.
