Agartala, 25th February 2026: Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, visited Kailashahar today as part of his official tour of Unakoti district.
Upon arrival, the Minister attended a high-level meeting at the Kailashahar Circuit House with senior district officials. The meeting was joined by District Council Chairman Amlendu Das, District Magistrate Dr. Tamal Majumdar, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Bipul Das, and other administrative officers. Discussions focused on overall district development, strengthening connectivity, and exploring aviation-related opportunities, according to administrative sources.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Minister Mohol highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “Developed India” by 2047. He emphasized that the Northeast region is progressing rapidly in line with this national goal, stressing the importance of infrastructure growth, improved connectivity, and harnessing tourism potential to ensure holistic development.
Later, the Minister visited the historic Shaiva pilgrimage site of Unakoti, where he reviewed tourism infrastructure and facilities for visitors. Following the inspection, he returned to the Circuit House for a brief rest before departing for Agartala by road.
The Minister’s visit generated significant activity among both the district administration and political circles, underscoring the importance of the tour for the region’s development agenda.
