MoS Sahu stresses transparency in development programs in Khowai

Agartala, 22nd November 2024:   Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Tokhan Sahu, today emphasized that development programs must be implemented transparently to serve the nation and ensure the welfare of its people.

He made this statement during a review meeting held at the conference hall of the Khowai District Magistrate’s Office under his chairmanship.

In the meeting, the Union Minister of State stressed the need for transparency in implementing development programs to benefit the public.

“For the welfare of the people, various projects and services of the Central and State governments should reach the last person. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working for the welfare of the country with the policy of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. The Prime Minister has also made efforts to build a developed India in the future,” he said.

The Union Minister of State highlighted that India’s diverse traditions and cultures have united the nation. During his visit to Khowai district, Tokhan Sahu interacted with members of five self-help groups at Durganagar, where he visited their stalls. He remarked that the Indian government has taken initiatives to empower women and make them self-reliant.

At the review meeting, Additional District Magistrate of Khowai district, Sumit Kumar Pandey, presented an overview of the district’s development programs through a PowerPoint presentation.

The meeting was attended by acting District Magistrate Saju Vahid A, Additional District Magistrate Abhijit Chakraborty, Sub-Divisional Magistrates of Khowai and Teliamura subdivisions, Block Development Officers of Khowai, Kalyanpur, Teliamura, Mungiakami, Tulashikhar, and Padmabil blocks, along with officials from various departments.

As part of his visit, the Union Minister of State inspected several locations, including the India-Bangladesh border near Puran Bazar in the Khowai subdivision, Atal Ashray Niwas under the Khowai Municipal Council, and the waste processing center in Barbil.

He also visited the newly constructed residence of Ranjan Pal, built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Nagar project, located in Ward No. 2 of the Khowai Municipal Council area.
