Agartala, 29th November 2025:   Tripura’s former Chief Minister and Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb today alleged that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government has failed to deliver development in Bengal, claiming the party’s primary goal is to “liberate the people of the state.”

Speaking to reporters at Nadia in West Bengal, Deb said, “Elections are a democratic process. But the people of Bengal know very well how democratic their Chief Minister truly is. She neither undertakes developmental work herself nor allows others to do so.”

Deb further argued that Bengal’s hardships have continued despite decades of political change. “Even during the 35 years of Communist rule, people suffered. Today, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is following the same path as the Communists in running the state,” he remarked.

The BJP leader’s comments come as the party intensifies its criticism of the TMC government ahead of upcoming political campaigns, framing the narrative around stalled development and governance issues in Bengal.
