MP Biplab Kumar Deb questions mineral auction benefits; Minister G Kishan Reddy highlights ₹6 lakh crore revenue boost

Agartala, 12th March 2025:  In the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, Member of Parliament Biplab Kumar Deb drew the attention of Union Minister for Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, to the benefits states have reaped from the auction system for mineral resources. He highlighted the employment opportunities and other advantages generated by this system.

Responding to the query, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy stated that since the BJP government came to power under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, significant reforms have been introduced in the management of mineral resources. He emphasized that the auction system has financially benefited every state in the country.

The revenue generated is distributed across private companies, state governments, and other sectors. Furthermore, he claimed that since Narendra Modi assumed office, the auction system has contributed ₹6 lakh crore in revenue to the states.
