MP Rajib Bhattacharjee recommends  28 lakh MPLADS fund for female footballers’ infrastructure in Agartala

Agartala, 4th September 2026 :   In a boost to sports infrastructure for women in Tripura, Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Rajib Bhattacharjee has recommended an allocation of ₹28,000,000 (₹28 lakh) from his Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) fund.

The grant has been proposed for the construction of a dedicated dressing room for female footballers at the Umakanta Mini Stadium in Agartala. The work will be executed under the beneficiary organization, the Tripura Football Association.

In an official communication issued on September 3, 2026, from Agartala, MP Rajib Bhattacharjee submitted the formal recommendation (Annexure-II) to the District Magistrate & Collector of West Tripura, who serves as the Nodal District Authority.

The letter requests the authority to scrutinize, sanction, and undertake the construction in accordance with technical, financial, and administrative standards set by the MPLADS guidelines. The MP has also requested regular updates regarding the approval and progress of the facility.

Pranab Sarkar President of Tripura Football Association expressed gratitude to the MP for this initiative.
