Agartala, 4th September 2026 : A new initiative aimed at strengthening higher education and fostering academic cooperation in Tripura has taken shape with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Techno India University, Tripura (TIUT) and Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) College, Agartala.
The agreement seeks to establish a framework for greater collaboration between the two institutions, including academic and knowledge exchange, joint academic initiatives, faculty and student engagement, research activities and expanded learning opportunities.
The partnership brings together TIUT and MBB College, Tripura’s first college, combining the latter’s longstanding academic legacy with contemporary approaches to higher education. The collaboration is expected to create new avenues for students, faculty members and researchers while contributing to the development of the state’s academic ecosystem.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Arjun Gope, Principal of MBB College, along with faculty members of the institution. TIUT was represented by Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Kumar Saha, Registrar-in-Charge Dr. Shiladitya Munshi, Dean of Academic Affairs Prof. Ajay Krishna Saha, Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and Students’ Welfare Prof. Dilip Sarkar, besides other faculty members.
TIUT expressed gratitude to Chancellor Prof. Satyam Roychowdhury for his vision of promoting meaningful academic partnerships and widening opportunities for students and educators. The university also acknowledged the continued leadership and encouragement of Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Kumar Saha in advancing such institutional collaborations.
The two institutions expressed hope that the partnership would translate into concrete academic programmes, stronger research linkages and a broader culture of shared learning in the days ahead.
