Agartala, 25th December 2024: The five-day Prantik Festival organized by Prantik Club commenced today with a morning procession, followed by the official inauguration at the club premises. The event was graced by Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharya as the chief guest, along with MLA Ratan Chakraborty, Prantik Festival Committee Chairman Dr. Pradip Bhowmik, Club President Dilip Kumar Nath, Club Secretary Dibyendu Datta, and Prantik Club founder Harihar Saha.
In his address, MP Rajib Bhattacharya highlighted the growing issue of drug addiction among the youth and called for collective efforts to build a drug-free Tripura. “The youth are increasingly falling prey to drug addiction. We must all come forward to create a drug-free Tripura,” he stated.
Bhattacharya praised Prantik Club for its humanitarian efforts, particularly during floods, and emphasized the club’s ongoing commitment to social work. “Prantik Club has always stood by the distressed during floods, showcasing their humanitarian spirit. The club consistently engages in social work,” he added.
The inauguration of the Prantik Festival 2024 saw Bhattacharya expressing his concerns about drug addiction and urging everyone to join the fight against it. “We must all come together to combat drug addiction,” he urged.
The festival, which will run for five days, aims to promote cultural activities and social awareness, with various programs and events planned throughout the week. The presence of prominent figures and the enthusiastic participation of the community marked a successful start to the Prantik Festival 2024.
