Mutilated Body recovered Near Bangeshwar River in Pratapgarh

Agartala, 24th June 2025:  A wave of shock and panic gripped the residents of Ghoshpara in Pratapgarh after the mutilated body of an unidentified person was discovered near the Bangeshwar river early this morning. In a bizarre twist, the decomposed body prompting widespread speculation and fear in the locality.

According to locals, a foul smell began spreading across the area early Tuesday morning, leading residents to search along the riverbank. To their horror, they stumbled upon a heavily decomposed and disfigured corpse lying beside the river.

Police were immediately informed and soon arrived at the spot. The body was recovered and sent to the hospital for autopsy. Officers said the body was in a severely damaged state, with several limbs, including parts of the hands and feet, found separated from the torso.

“There was no unusual smell last night,” a local resident told reporters. “But this morning, it was unbearable. We followed it and found the body beside the river.”While the origin of the body and the cause of death remain unclear, the local police have registered a case of unnatural death and initiated an investigation.
