Agartala, 17th February 2025: The body of an ambulance driver, Srinibas Sarkar, was found in his quarters at the Bishalgarh Sub-division Hospital early Monday morning, sparking a wave of suspicion and concern from his family.
The deceased, aged 35, had been working at the hospital for the past seven years. His family, including his wife and young child, is demanding a thorough investigation into his death, suspecting foul play.
Srinibas Sarkar, a resident of Kuripukur in Amtali, had been assigned to transport patients between Bishalgarh and the Agartala GBP Hospital.
On Sunday night, he had completed his shift, taking a patient to the GBP Hospital, and was set to make another trip on Monday morning. However, when he failed to respond at the scheduled time, the doctors on duty and staff members broke open the door to his quarters, only to find his lifeless body.
The police immediately arrived on the scene after being notified of the incident. The body was later taken to the hospital morgue for post-mortem.
While doctors suggest that Sarkar had been suffering from high blood pressure, a condition he was being treated for with medication, his wife and relatives insist that there are unresolved questions surrounding his sudden death.
His wife has called for a detailed investigation, hoping the authorities will uncover the true cause of his demise. The case remains under investigation, with police yet to provide any conclusive statements.
