Agartala, 10th January 2024:  In a shocking turn of events, the family of late Biswajit Sarkar, a PhD student from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), is demanding a comprehensive investigation into his unusual death.

The grieving father, Ajit Sarkar, refutes claims of suicide made by his daughter-in-law Kathakali Chowhan and raised serious questions about the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.

Biswajit Sarkar, who resided in Ranirbazar with his wife Kathakali Chowhan, was found dead last Friday. Initially reported as a heart attack by Biswajit’s father-in-law Shekhar Chauhan, the family was later misled about the location of the incident, creating confusion and suspicion.

Ajit Sarkar, speaking at a press conference in Baradowali Taltala, pointed out a crucial inconsistency in the suicide narrative. He contends that if his son had hanged himself, the rope would have been visible to family members. Additionally, he expressed reservations about signing a document presented by the police at GB Hospital, suspecting a cover-up.

Biswajit’s maternal uncle, who observed the body at GB Hospital, noted injury marks on the head, raising further concerns about the circumstances of his death. Despite the family’s insistence on a thorough investigation, the autopsy report has not been provided to them.

The family alleges a strained relationship between Biswajit and his wife, Kathakali Chauhan, citing disputes over her involvement in modeling and disagreements over clothing choices. It is claimed that these disagreements escalated to domestic violence, prompting Biswajit to confide in his family about the alleged torture.

In response to these troubling developments, a case has been filed against Kathakali Chauhan and Shekhar Chauhan at Ranirbazar police station. However, the family asserts that the police are yet to verify their complaints, prompting them to seek the attention of the Chief Minister for a fair investigation.

Amidst growing concerns and allegations, the grieving parents of Biswajit Sarkar are demanding a transparent and impartial trial to uncover the truth behind their son’s untimely demise. The community awaits further developments as the call for justice intensifies.
