Agartala, 18th April 2025: The Nivedita English Medium High School at Kumarghat faced a devastating fire last night, leaving two rooms of its office in ruins. According to eyewitness, locals suddenly noticed flames erupting inside the school building and immediately alerted authorities. “We were shocked to see the fire and started shouting for help,” said one witness.
The blaze consumed various books, documents, cupboards, electrical appliances and other valuable items. Fortunately, a major disaster was averted as surrounding houses narrowly escaped the flames. “If not for the swift intervention of the fire brigade, the situation could have been much worse,” commented a local resident.
The fire brigade supported by residents managed to bring the fire under control. However, the cause of the fire remains unknown, adding to the intense speculation in the area.
This comes amidst ongoing unrest among parents, who have been protesting over issues related to free school admission. The timing of the fire has raised questions, with locals expressing doubt over the circumstances leading to the blaze. “The police must conduct a thorough investigation to uncover the mystery behind this incident,” said the school committee president in a statement earlier today.
