Agartala, 11th March 2025: Pradesh BJP spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharya today launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, accusing it of acting as the “frontline soldier” of the CPIM. Bhattacharya alleged that Congress has been echoing CPIM’s statements in advance and attempting to tarnish the BJP government with baseless allegations.
Addressing the media persons here this evening, Bhattacharya countered Congress’s claims about unemployment under the BJP government. “During our tenure, 17,645 people were employed through a transparent recruitment policy. There is no evidence of corruption in these appointments,” he stated.
Bhattacharya further criticized the Congress for its alleged history of corruption. “During the Congress period, jobs were distributed as gifts at weddings, and the constitution was violated in the appointment of TCS and TPS posts in 1990. Job offers were literally in the pockets of leaders and ministers,” he claimed, providing examples to substantiate his accusations.
Highlighting the alleged secret relationship between the CPIM and Congress, Bhattacharya said, “There was a division of business between the two parties during that time. People have not forgotten the incidents of 1993—vandalism of municipalities and panchayats, food scams, textbook scams, and theft of money from various schemes.”
He also emphasized the progress made under the BJP government. “Today, youth are getting jobs, the health system has improved, and terrorism has stopped. During the Left and Congress periods, law and order were non-existent. Kidnapping and terrorism were everyday occurrences, and people died of starvation, malnutrition, and diseases like malaria. These are now things of the past,” Bhattacharya asserted.
Concluding his remarks, Bhattacharya accused Congress of being fearful of BJP’s growing support. “Congress is scared of our gatherings. That’s why they are making baseless allegations to mislead people. But the public is now aware and has joined BJP’s Jamaat spontaneously,” he said.
