Narcotic substances worth Rs 10 lakh seized at Sonamura

Agartala, August 03, 2022: Sonamura police on the intervening nights of Tuesday and Wednesday achieved a huge success in an anti-drug campaign seizing bulk quantity of narcotic substances from Aralia village of Sonamura sub-division.

Based on confidential information, a large contingent of police force led by Sonamura Sub-Divisional Police Officer Banoj Biplab Das, along with Sonamura police station OC Manik Debnath, succeeded in this operation.

SDPO Das said “Altogether, 2,069 bottles of Phensedyl, 120 bottles of Eskuf bottles, and 32 kgs of dry cannabis were recovered from the house of a person in Aralia village of Sonamura police station area in an anti-narcotics operation. The market value of all these narcotic substances is around Rs 10 lakh.”

The police could not nab anyone involved in the drug trade in the operation. However, OC Manik Debnath said that such operations will continue in the coming days.
