Agartala, August 03, 2022: The people of Bagbasa area under North Tripura district staged a protest by blocking Bagbasa tri-junction road which is the national highway number 8 demanding repairing of dilapidated condition of roads. As a result, vehicles were stranded on both sides of the road and passengers travelling long distances had to face difficulties.
Meanwhile, after receiving information about the incident, the officials of the Public Works Department arrived at the spot and tried to control the situation through talks with the road blockaders. But the residents complained that for a long time, the water accumulated in the huge potholes on the road and dilapidated condition of about 100 metres’. It has become difficult to commute. If this road is not repaired immediately, the road blockade will not be cleared.
Meanwhile, Dharmanagar Police Station OC Shiburanjan Dey rushed to the spot after receiving the news of this incident. Later, after the officials of the Public Works Department and the OC promised to repair the road immediately, the road blockade was lifted after about two hours.
