Agartala, 4th January 2026:    The Medical Astrology Research Fraternity hosted a Navagraha Yagna at the Durga Bari premises in Agartala, drawing a large gathering of devotees and spiritual seekers. The event was attended by Tripura Legislative Assembly Chief Whip and MLA Kalyani Saha Roy.

According to Hindu astrology, the Navagraha Yagna is performed to appease the nine celestial bodies—Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu—believed to influence human life. The ritual aims to reduce negative planetary effects and bring peace, prosperity, and positive energy.

Speaking at the ceremony, MLA Kalyani Saha Roy noted that the day’s proceedings began with the lighting of the sacred lamp. She highlighted the connection between astrology and medical science, emphasizing the cultural and spiritual significance of such rituals in preserving the values of Sanatan Dharma. The day-long program also included a Gita Yagna and other religious and spiritual activities.

The event witnessed participation from numerous devotees who joined in collective prayers for peace and well-being. For the past three years, the Medical Astrology Research Fraternity has been organizing the Navagraha Yajna at Durga Bari. Alongside MLA Kalyani Saha Roy, attendees included Dr. Soma Choudhury, Jayanta Bhattacharya, and members of the fraternity, along with a large number of devotees.
