NDPS fugitive Humayun Hossain arrested at Jatrapur

Agartala, 5th May 2026:   After months on the run, police at Jatrapur Police Station have successfully arrested Humayun Hossain, an accused in a major NDPS case.

According to police sources, on February 19, 2026, officers conducted a special operation in the Barakhala area under Jatrapur jurisdiction. During the raid, a vehicle bearing registration number TR01D3432 was intercepted. A thorough search led to the recovery of approximately 138 kilograms of cannabis. The operation was led by Sub-Inspector Amar Kishore Debbarma along with other police officials. However, the prime accused, Humayun Hossain, managed to escape from the spot during the raid.

Since then, police had been actively pursuing him. Despite evading law enforcement for several weeks, he was finally apprehended today from his residence in South Paharpur, following a tip-off from confidential sources.

OC Partha Nath Bhowmik confirmed that the accused will be produced before the court today, and further investigation into the case is underway.

The arrest has sparked widespread discussion in the locality, with residents expressing relief and appreciation for the police’s success in nabbing the fugitive.
