Agartala, 10th September 2024: The newly elected members of the Dhalai Zilla Parishad took their oaths of office at a ceremony held at Ambassa Town Hall. The event saw the participation of members from nine constituencies, who were sworn in by Prasoon Dey, Director of the Panchayat Department.
Following the oath-taking, the members convened their first meeting, where Sushmita Das was elected as the District President and Anadi Sarkar as the Vice President. The President and Vice President were subsequently administered their oaths by Sandeep R. Rathore, Secretary of the RD Panchayat Department.
The ceremony was attended by notable guests, including Swapna Das Pal, outgoing member of the Surma Assembly Constituency, Sandeep R. Rathore, Secretary of the RD Department, Prasoon Dey, Director of the Panchayat Department, and Saju Wahid, Dhalai District Magistrate and Samaharta.
In her address, newly elected Chairperson Sushmita Das pledged to work diligently for the people, ensuring that government projects reach all sections of society. She called for cooperation from all community members to support their initiatives.
