Unexpected death of businessman at girl friend’s home sparks investigation in Agartala

Agartala, 10th September 2024:   A 49-year-old businessman from Jogendranagar named Liton Roy was found dead at his girlfriend’s rented house in the Ashram Choumuhani area of the capital city. The incident took place on Monday afternoon.

According to reports, Liton had been in a long-term relationship with his girlfriend, Pompi Ghosh. Around 4:30 PM, Pompi called Liton’s younger brother informing him that Liton had fallen ill and asked him to come to the address. Upon arrival, Liton’s brother found him unconscious and cold in Pompi’s bed.

Liton was rushed to GB Hospital, where the attending doctor declared him dead on arrival. The sudden death has raised suspicions, particularly from Liton’s brother, who has filed a complaint against Pompi Ghosh at the local police station. He has demanded a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his brother’s death.

“The body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem on Tuesday,” said a police spokesperson. “We are looking into the matter and will ensure a fair investigation.”

The news has left Liton’s family devastated, with relatives breaking down in tears as they received his body. The investigation continues as authorities seek to uncover the truth behind this unexpected tragedy.
