NFR to run Kanchanjungha Express from Sabroom

Agartala, 15th June 2024:   Fulfilling the long-standing demand of the people of South Tripura District, Northeast Frontier Railway has decided to extend the services of train no. 13173/13174 (Sealdah – Agartala – Sealdah) Kanchanjungha Express from Agartala to Sabroom. The extension of these trains will be effective from the 16th of June, 2024.

According to NFR, train no. 13173 (Sealdah – Sabroom) Kanchanjungha Express will depart from Sealdah at 06:50 hours on every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday to reach Sabroom at 20:00 hours on every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Monday respectively. Similarly, train no. 13174 (Sabroom – Sealdah) Kanchanjungha Express will depart from Sabroom at 06:20 hours w.e.f. 18th June on every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday to reach Sealdah at 19:20 hours on every Wednesday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday respectively. With this extension, passengers from the southernmost areas of Tripura will get direct connectivity to Kolkata. Traders, students, and patients will be immensely benefitted.

Announcing it, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha said, “Sealdah-bound Kanchanjungha Express is going to start from Sabroom station in South District from June 18 as previously promised. As a result of this special initiative, the people of several regions, including South, Gomati, and Sepahijala districts of the state, will be greatly benefited. Heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji and Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnavji for this laudable initiative.”
